Romantic Road from the River Main to the Alps

The little town of Harburg lies in the valley of the River Wörnitz between the hills of the Swabian and Franconian Jura. The old part of town between the Wörnitz and the castle is a maze of small, crooked lanes lined by half-timbered houses and Baroque gabled houses. Towering above the village is the mighty Harburg, one of the best preserved castles in Germany, today owned by a foundation of the Counts of Oettingen-Wallerstein.
