An old and young town on the river
Landsberg am Lech
Every view is a postcard picture and that is not by chance: when building his 'Mutterturm', Hubert von Herkomer positioned the windows so that each looks out onto a wonderful part of Landsberg. And there are many more attractive parts of the town than you can see from here: there is the Lech weir over which the river tumbles in foaming cascades, and the town walls with their numerous turrets, as well as the many churches, winding alleyways, shops and cafés. And finally, there is the heart of the town, the main square with its magnificent town hall and the Marienbrunnen fountain, with life pulsating around it, day in day out.
