Würzburg has been home of Jewish faith since the middle ages. In the 17th century, the prince bishops evicted Jews from the city and surrounding areas, and in the 19th century a Jewish community got reestablished. The Nazi dictatorship eclipsed with the deportation of Jews. Today, the Jewish community of Würzburg is again 1100 members strong. The tour provides an overview of the religion and history of Würzburg's Jews and covers important sights such as the Juliusspital and the Marienkapelle.
