Classic bus tours
From the beginning, coaches have been of special significance for the Romantic Road. The long-distance bus route from Würzburg to Füssen was opened in the Romantic Road‘s inaugural year and still links the towns and villages along its length today. It is particularly prized by hikers and cyclists as a way of skipping sections of the route or for taking them back to their starting point. The historic locomotives and railbuses that follow the route, remind us of the „good old days“. So, too, do the tours in our classic coaches, full of nostalgia and with timetables that we can put together to suit your individual wishes for your trip along the Romantic Road. For these tours we run a Neoplan NH 6/7 (built 1958), a Mercedes/Vetter O 321 (built 1963), a Magirus Deutz SH 110 (built 1979) and a Setra S 80 (built 1974).
Nature and gastro-trail
Those of you who travel down the long-distance hiking and cycle paths along the Romantic Road, will discover, between Füssen and Würzburg, the ever-changing scenery of a region renowned for its enjoyment of the good things in life, with traditional, richly varied, local and regional cuisine. There is lots of fun to be had playing „Hurlen“ – a traditional Franconian game that demands of its participants a degree of both skill and good humour. Also to be enjoyed are the wagon rides within historic town walls, across meadows and fields on either side of the Romantic Road, and ending with a hearty snack in the conviviality of a beer garden. As a souvenir of the trip, all tour members get to take home a certificate - testament to the nostalgic memory of times gone by - and an original bottle of the traditional local ‚Zwickelbier‘ as a memento of the Romantic Road.
