An impressive 25,000 international guests from 20 countries took part in this year’s survey conducted by the German National Tourist Board (GNTB) on the top 100 sights in Germany in 2024 and voted for their favourite tourist highlights. The Romantic Road, Germany’s only quality holiday route, once again took top spot in 26th place and received the highest rating among the tourist holiday routes in Germany. Six other places were also voted into this illustrious circle. This once again highlights the high quality of holiday experiences that await international and local guests on the Romantic Road from Würzburg to Füssen.
Rothenburg ob der Tauber was ranked 5th in the top 100 sights in Germany for 2024, while Neuschwanstein Castle in Hohenschwangau was voted 11th. The cities of Würzburg in 31st place and Dinkelsbühl in 48th place are also among the top 100, while Bad Mergentheim Wildlife Park is ranked 57th and the excellent result is rounded off by the UNESCO World Heritage pilgrimage church ‘Die Wies’ in Steingaden in 94th place. ‘We are delighted to receive these awards,’ emphasises Jürgen Wünschenmeyer, Managing Director of Romantische Straße Touristik-Arbeitsgemeinschaft GbR. ‘This shows that we on the Romantic Road are also very well positioned across the board to offer our guests outstanding holiday experiences in all important holiday segments. However, this is also an incentive for us to continue to develop this already high level of quality.’
