Schwangau

The Royal Village

The ‘village of royal castles‘ lies at the southern end of the Romantic Road and is surrounded by four lakes, against the backdrop of the Ammer Mountains nature reserve. The genuine features of this health resort, with its therapeutic climate, excellent for allergy sufferers, features old farms, traditional inns, modern hotels and two camping sites. At the foot of the mountain stand the two world-famous royal castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau, two spectacular castle buildings of the nineteenth century.
