ICE train stops include the cities of Würzburg, Donauwörth and Augsburg.
Regional train stations include the following cities/towns: Wertheim, Tauberbischofsheim, Lauda-Königshofen, Bad Mergentheim, Weikersheim, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Nördlingen, Harburg, Rain, Friedberg, Landsberg am Lech, Schongau, Peiting and Füssen.
The train station in Dombühl is part of the Nuremburg Transit Authority; from here, it is possible to reach (by bus) Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Feuchtwangen and Dinkelsbühl.

Day trips from/to Frankfurt and from/to Munich
The buses that travel seasonally along the Romantic Road are a tradition for more than 70 years. Most visitors to Europe have a tight schedule on their journey through Europe, on which Germany's oldest holiday road is an integral part. In order to meet the requirements of international guests, the timetable has been specially adapted to those needs. Passengers traveling across southern Germany in just one day are offered a convenient transfer in Rothenburg ob der Tauber (in both directions). The numerous other cities and towns of the Romantic Road are served if requested, whereby a reservation is required 36 hours before departure.
In addition to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Wertheim Village Outlet, the Franconian metropolis Würzburg, the spa city Bad Mergentheim, the wine region of Markelsheim and the residential town Weikersheim are worthwhile destinations for a day trip from/to Frankfurt. Impressive is also the pristine nature along the Romantic Road, where you can also cover stages, such as from Röttingen to Creglingen.
Travelers from Munich also have many options, such as the medieval towns Nördlingen or Dinkelsbühl. The festival town of Feuchtwangen and the castle of the princes of Hohenlohe Schillingsfürst on the Frankenhöhe are other gems on the Romantic Road. The stay in the respective place can be selected individually by the guest, on all traffic days the distance is served in both directions. In Würzburg, Markelsheim, Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Nördlingen and Donauwörth there are train stations which offer the individual traveler options for travel planning.
